- Select Spotify, then Link account to Alexa. Enter your Spotify account details. You can then set Spotify as a default music service, so you don’t need to specify “on Spotify” at the end of your voice commands: Tap the menu in the top-left. Tap Settings, then Music. Tap Choose default music services. Select Spotify and tap DONE.
- Openthe Alexa app on your phone Settings “Set up a new device” Echo. When asked, select your 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi network (Echo had difficulty connecting to my 5 Ghz network, or maybe it just can't). After everything has connected, use this language: “Alexa, play XXXXXX playlist” Note that you need to set Spotify as your default music.
Even Spotify Premium subscribers, who dutifully watch a tenner a month float out of their bank accounts, are limited to using Spotify on only one device at a time. Start streaming on your phone and any music being piped through Alexa speakers will come to an abrupt halt, and vice versa.

Pro Tips
Pro Tip #1: How to play your Liked Songs
To play your Liked Songs (the ones you tap the heart icon for), say “Alexa, play my Liked Songs on Spotify.” You can even “like” a new song and add it to your Liked Songs list via Alexa just by saying “Alexa, like this song” while the song is playing. https://nadsixv.weebly.com/blog/download-spotify-for-ios-421-ipod-2nd-generation.
Even if you’ve made Spotify your default music provider, for this Alexa command you still have to include the “on Spotify.”
Pro Tip #2: How to play your Discover Weekly and Daily Mix
Discovery weekly: Just say “Alexa play my Discovery Weekly playlist.”
Daily mix: Just say “Alexa, play my daily mix [insert number] playlist.”
Pro Tip #3: Sometimes it’s easier to listen to playlists via Alexa routine
When I listen to music, I generally listen to my favorite playlist of the moment. But I can never remember the exact Spotify playlist name to summon it with Alexa.
My solution: I created an Alexa routine that turns on the Spotify playlist whenever I say “Alexa, playlist.”
Plus, you can easily change the routine to play a different Spotify playlist (for when your favorite playlist inevitably changes).
Pro Tip #4: Why not create a few Alexa routines for different playlists?
If you want to easily summon multiple playlists, create a few routines with different Alexa command triggers. For example, “Alexa, morning playlist,””Alexa, relaxing playlist,””Alexa, energize playlist,” etc.

Part 1. How to Play Spotify Playlist on Alexa with Premium
From the beginning of the article, we have pointed out that there are a wide variety of devices supporting interaction with Amazon Alexa. But when it comes to enabling Spotify on Alexa, please make sure Spotify songs are also compatible with available Alexa devices, such as Amazon Echo and Sonos speaker. If you are subscribing other music streaming services, please check it whether Alexa speaker is capable of playing target music streams.
What's more, no matter which Alexa device you are using, it's important to keep it in mind that you are required to subscribe Spotify Premium plan with the purpose of getting Spotify on Alexa. There are two ways you can choose to connect Spotify with Alexa for better music listening with voice control. Let's see how.
Way 1. How to Set Up Spotify on Alexa
Step 1. Please install and run Amazon Alexa app on your mobile devices or computers, and tap Settings option from the left-side menu to click Account -> Music & Media button.
Step 2. https://nadsixv.weebly.com/blog/spotify-username-and-password-free-2018. There is a new window popping up, where you will see a list of music streaming services supported by Alexa. Just select 'Spotify' by clicking 'Link Account on Spotify.com” to login your Spotify premium account details.
Step 3. Hulu included with spotify premium. When you get a message 'Your Spotify account has been linked successfully', please go back to the Music & Media section of the Alexa app, and hit on 'Choose default music services' button to make Spotify default on Alexa.
Step 4. Now, you can start to use the activation word 'Alexa' and other music commands to ask Alexa to play certain music, songs, playlists or artists on Spotify, Spotify tracks will be playing on Alexa smart speaker automatically.
If you are using Amazon Echo in hand, you can refer to this complete tutorial to play Spotify on Echo with Alexa: How to Stream Spotify Music on Amazon Echo.

Step 1. Install Spotify app on your computer or mobile device and launch it.
Step 2. Play a favorite song, and click the 'Devices Available' button at the bottom-right corner to connect Alexa device.
Step 3. Start to listen to Spotify music on Alexa supported devices. Please make sure both devices connected under the same Wi-Fi network.
Note: You can control playback using the Spotify app but not for Alexa voice assistant. The reason I listed this way in this step is that this is also a solution to playing Spotify music or playlists on Alexa compatible devices.
